making our world better
Giving and Doing

For centuries, Unitarians and Universalists have been engaged in working for justice. Unitarians and Universalists have always believed that all people deserve to live freely, assured of their safety, with options to make their own lives and this world better.
We continue this legacy with a deep congregational commitment to equity, justice and compassion. Our work takes many forms and addresses many concerns from the environment to food insecurity to racial inequity. Our initiatives are spearheaded by congregants, passionate about creating peace for all beings on this Earth. Also, like many congregations, we take up an offering every Sunday to help support our operating budget. A portion of that money is given away each month to a different local organization working against inequality. We call this "Sharing the Plate".
Below are some of the efforts undertaken by our congregation, facilitated by members of UUCHV groups such as Social Justice Committee, LGBTQ Inclusivity Team, and Religious Exploration.
